alamak!!! RON95 nk naik lagi ke der?

People can expect a further rise in the prices of RON95 petrol in the near future as part of the government's efforts to reduce the country's fuel subsidy.

These measures also help to reduce the smuggling of gasoline to neighboring countries, according to the Petroleum Dealers Association (PDAM) president Datuk Hashim Othman.

"Smuggling of petrol and diesel is the fuel is cheaper in Malaysia," he told Bernama.
According to newspaper reports, Kedah Anti-Smuggling Unit (UPP) on Friday cripple attempts to smuggle
27,300 liters of subsidized diesel worth RM54, 600 to Thailand.

Despite the efforts to help people through subsidies, he regretted there also to take advantage of it.
PDAM president said, the reduction of subsidies can prevent them from carrying out the activity.
The Government recently introduced a new price of RON95 and diesel subsidies by 20 cents per liter to RM2.10 and RM2.00 from RM1.90 and RM1.80.

Price is still considered cheap compared to countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines.

PDAM recently proposed savings from oil subsidies used by the government to abolish road tax and reduce insurance rates for cars with an engine capacity of less than 2,000 cc.
